The Drawings:

All of the drawings in this gallery are pen and ink 'stipple' drawings which are made up entirely, 100%, of pen ink dots. Stipple drawing is an incredibly slow process that allows for great detail to be achieved and the finished work has a near 3D quality.

Some of these drawings are finished with 24 carat Gold Leaf.

Based on 4 dots per second I can give an approximation of how many dots are used to create each drawing. I time each drawing session to be able to know how long each drawing takes to complete. This was an often asked question, the answer to which I was always previously uncertain, though I knew it was a 'long' time.

The Pens and the Ink:

I use Sakura Pigma Micron drawing pens in all of my pen and ink drawings. The pens have become the defining standard for reliable, permanent, archival quality ink. The archival quality ink is acid-free, chemically stable, waterproof, and fade resistant.

The Frames:

All Pen & Ink drawings are sold professionally framed as shown and are glazed using Optium Museum Quality Acrylic. This glaze is Trusted by the world’s most renowned museums, this state-of-the-art glazing boasts a virtually invisible anti-reflective coating allowing viewers to see the finest details in crystal clear colour neutrality, while its UV-filtering, abrasion resistant acrylic, and anti-static coating offer uncompromising protection and preservation.
