when the snow met the sea

40x50cm

acrylic/mixed media on canvas

A painting from photographs I had taken in 2008 when I lived in Hove, East Sussex. A rare event to even see a few snowflakes on the coast. In 2008 we were blessed with a wonderful snowfall that lasted for at least 48 hours before it had all entirely disappeared. Unable to drive the 25 miles to work that day in a foot of snow, I trekked out with my camera. Anyone knowing the city of Brighton and Hove would immediately recognise the railings to be found the length of promenade.
