This painting uses a rock formation also found in my painting Memories of the Loch (aka Dead Souls). I took the formation from a painting that hung on my grandparents wall many years ago and which now resides on the wall of my parent's home. The circle of life symbolised by the rocks, the close family unit and those present and past as they drift away to other places and other dimensions. This was commissioned by friends who were taken with my painting 'Memories of the Loch' but wanted to capture the darkness of my Nightscape paintings. I think it worked out quite well. Highly textured and very tactile.
